privacy controls
most of fink's privacy isn't a setting — it's the absence of a server. this page covers the few controls that do exist, and how to verify the rest instead of trusting it.
what there is to configure
- the transcript eye— the assistant’s panel has a three-state verbosity toggle: quiet shows only the conversation, system adds backend notices, and allshows the assistant’s working-out. machine chatter is never dressed up as the assistant talking — system lines render as terminal output so you always know who said what.
- incognito tabs — isolated sessions in fink.browser, beside your normal ones.
- memory on your terms— p.ai remembers what you tell it to remember, and “purge memory” is a spoken command away.
what there is nothing to configure for
there is no telemetry toggle because there is no telemetry. speech is transcribed locally, the language model runs locally, notes are local files, wallpapers live in the app’s own data folder, and the browser blocks trackers in the preload layer before pages run. a privacy dashboard for data we don’t collect would just be theater.
good to know
verify, don’t trust: the homepage runs a live audit of its own network traffic, and the warrant canaryis cryptographically signed and re-stamped on schedule. the same posture applies to the app — watch its traffic with any tool you like; there’s nothing to find.
